Making time for a trip downtown to your nearest Pittsburgh gym isn’t always an option. You’re hard pressed for time, and would love to have a home gym, so you can exercise at your leisure. If you have no space left over to utilize, simply look beneath your house! A basement can easily be concerted into a trendy home gym, giving you and other members of your family a place to converge to work out without having to make long commutes or interminable wait times!
Luckily, you don’t really need a lot of designing or setting up to turn your basement into a home gym. What is important is that your basement be ventilated and brightly lit, preferably with mirrors all around. A bathroom with shower facilities is an absolute must and so is a small changing room if you can section one area of the gym off. Make sure all gym equipment is installed a fair distance away from each other. Set up a music system, and a CD player for exercise video watching as your exercise.
Turning your Pittsburgh, PA area basement into a workout room can be the most sensible decision you ever made. With the help of a basement remodel contractor, your basement will go from an unused cluttered space to a place where you can work out in ease and comfort. With a home gym at your disposal, you will be more eager to workout rather than putting off exercise for the weekend. A basement home gym is an investment for your health that will pay off in the years to come.
1923 Craftsman. We are interested in remodeling the basement (big surprise) to add a family room, bathroom and bedroom. There's lots of space and reasonable height but it's very much a "basement" right now. There's an internal staircas to the upstairs, as well as access to the backyard via steps / door down to the basement. There are 2 existing windows.

We have a large open basement and would like to explore adding an additional bedroom, storage closet, and bonus/game room.
